The Challenge

As a new player in the crowded food tech startup scene, the Dripos team was looking to redesign and elevate their conference and event marketing material and booth design while exploring a new direction for how their brand used illustration. Our designs needed to exude confidence and bring energy to the sea of bland booths that you see at most conferences.

The Solution

Building a Visual Language

Our exploration started by diving into different visual directions for the various conference materials. We began by looking at 3D food-centered mockups to bold typographic approaches that broadened the existing Dripos system. We eventually ended up with bold line-driven illustrations that brought a human touch to the current tech-inspired typography system.

To create impact within the typographic system, we utilized hand-lettering to draw emphasis within the designs - helping to create unity between the library of illustrations and typography.

Illustration Feast for the Eyes

The restaurant industry is built by people passionate about their love of food. The illustration library needed to feel authentic and respectful of this passion. These illustrations have a hand-drawn quality that breathes energy and authenticity that matches the industry's passion. To allow great flexibility across the marketing materials, the library of illustrations was built so they could be pieced together as a single image or broken down into individual parts. This capability allowed for greater efficiency in creating material that still created powerful visuals through illustration.

Lettering For Emphasis

We needed to build a stronger relationship between the images and the typographic system where the illustrations were the "human side" of the Dripos brand and technology. To do so, we leverage hand lettering to emphasize the brand's "power" words. By combining the power of sophisticated mono-space type and hand lettering, we could create cohesion between the illustration and the greater brand system.

A Space that Stands Out

Conference booths can be notoriously dull to the point where they all blend together. With Dripos, the goal was to design marketing materials and space that broke through the noise of these booths' mundaneness and built something people wanted to engage with and carry around with them. Through a bold color palette and combining our illustrations and lettering, our designs brought that confidence and freshness of the "new-kid-on-the-block" that Dripos was looking for.
